Crisis in Greece

It is amazing how such can happen to a country with so much rich heritage. Greece is on the way to being shackled to dehumanizing austerity measures which will have a lasting impact on the not only the aged, but the young ones. It is a shame that this has to happen

I agree with you on this response. The only issue is that there has to be a balance between what the government uses and what they acquire in debt.

good observation, I think the Government spent more then they collect both from debtors and GDP, instead of proper budgetary control they went on deficit spending, meaning they spend more then they collect. and as a country with rich heritage, probably they relent to up with global economic trends, I guess should they proacted this could have been foreseen.

Greece is a country with ancient heritage and the country has paved way to modern civilisation. The people of Greece are no longer hard working as their forefathers, they have been reaping the fruits of their ancient generations that created monumental events for them. The world is changing faster than what anyone can emerging. It is high time to think of how to bring back the lost glory and be more creative as a nation in order to measure up with their European colleagues. The change in their history is good pattern for them to prepare for the future generations economically and socially.

Interesting thought. How do you think the Greek people, and any other world culture, can make this happen?

I agree with the thoughts of Alani. I think the current stage of Greece is also because of reckless policies and shortsightedness of policy makers. This is also a living example of overconfidence and irony that "NOTHING FAILS LIKE SUCCESS". Greece was so rich and that richness is the reason for today's misery..

But how would you fix the problem? They seem to be getting into more debt and not coming out of the problem.

All well said, I share with all sentiments espoused by Alani and Roshan. All blames must stop at the policy makers, who are the movers and shakers and the drivers of Greece economy. The economic policy direction was mainly on complacency and lack of conceptualize visions to foresee the current economic issues way back before it occurs. They have no choice than to take the bitter pill to revert this economic woes to ensure they are back on line.

If you were part of the Greek government what type of plan would you put in place to get out of this situation.

Best regards. The problem of Grace and the world is that the Capital is above the interests of the people. In Ecuador , especially in the commune of Quinuapata , people use the money, capital to get out of poverty , to live with dignity

hello Fellows. Dr. i think that greece government should withdraw or reduce some of the taxes impose on the citizenry now that they are looking for ways to deal with their debt. they should not look at siphoning resources from the citizenry is a way to go by. i again think that the government should review its strategy regarding tourism. greece has a beautiful ancient history yet their tourism industry is not as booming as dubai with not so a good history is doing. the influx of people to just look at the well planned community, is mind blowing. finally i think greece should invest heavily in making its economy investor friendly.

I respect the view of the analysts, but the mistakes of the Greece may take 25 years or more to resolve. I would like us to mirror the economic system of Ethiopia and Niger as the less countries of the world with economic meltdown in the past 10 years or more but you can't hear their system failure from the media now. you may equally take example of southern Sudan immediately after their independent you will observed that there were heavy unrest due to power mongrel on who to control the national resources. Greece problems are known by them and they are responsible for their calamities, and not to allow other nations giving them monies in a named loan.

But wouldn't the problems in Ethiopia be directly linked to the military situation with Eritrea?

I hope I'm not too late with commenting on issues of an economic nature; my experience with Greek people is of an interactive business species; the dynamic character of the economy whether in a descending state has survived just because of these financial qualities which make the people so unique and attractive an asset to mother earth.

It's often called the birthplace of Western civilization, and Athens, its capital, retains ancient landmarks including the 5th-century-B.C.E. Acropolis citadel and Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos. Advisor Leidy Villa

If Greece buying power of one dollar equal 7.1 Kronos then the world power will be corrupt as it deemed to repeat for destruction of other countries. Business wise not corruption and based on greed!
